To many, Labor Day is just another three day weekend. While I’m totally on board with having a Monday off from work, your marketing should never take a rest. We’re here to share some tips on how to take the labor out of Labor Day marketing.

So…What IS Labor Day?

Basically, Labor Day is a holiday celebrating the working class. Canada and the United States celebrate it the first Monday of September. However, most other countries observe it on May 1st. Though many businesses close in observation, many (especially those in retail) are open. However, do you know how to make that work?

(I’ll give you a little hint on a good starting point: you can check out my previous blog from Memorial Day)

Is Your Marketing Working Hard...

...Or Hardly Working? SDB Can Help.

It’s Not Just For Sales

Even if you’re not a retail company, you can still utilize the long weekend to help your business. Whether or not your business is open on Monday, there are still ways to engage you customers. Be sure to send out social media posts with happy Labor Day wishes. It’s also beneficial to get involved in your community. Options such as donating to a local charity, attending a block party, or sponsoring a community event can help you market your business…even when you don’t think that’s what you’re doing.

Seasonal Boosts

Labor Day is considered the unofficial end of the summer. Even though school has already started, the holiday brings the excitement of football season and the cooler weather of autumn.

The seasonal changes can actually help you easily market your business. For example:

  • HVAC companies can promote seasonal furnace maintenance services in order to increase business.
  • Increase sales for a real estate office by helping your client envision themselves moved in before the holidays.
  • “Too many #PSLs?! Get your teeth whitened today.” Cooler weather can boost appointments for cosmetic dentistry or other elective medical procedures.

Does these easy marketing tips help make your Labor Day marketing a little less…laborious? We certainly hope so! When you choose SDB as your marketing agency, we take all of the stress out of it for you. Give us a call and see how we can make a difference!
