Are you sending email just to provide information or are you offering something? These are critical components to determine before even drafting a campaign. If you’re looking to inform your customer base about a new service you’re offering, it’s easy to type out a quick email to them with your big announcement. There are a variety of ways to get the word out and email is a great medium for that.

How often have you just scrolled through a promotional email…or just deleted it altogether? *raises hand* Making sure that you create an interesting subject line to draw in your customers is the first step in a really successful email campaign. The majority of today’s consumers are looking for instant gratification. If you don’t reel them in immediately, they’re likely to lose interest and click “delete” immediately.

Check Your Content

The whole point of an email campaign is to generate traffic to your website. If you’re offering a clothing sale, don’t show photos of all of your inventory on the email. Showcase some of your most popular pieces, then add a link in your email to a landing page for your sale. This will direct customers exactly to where you want them to go AND it piques their interest. It’s a win-win strategy!

Don’t Overdo It

Like anything, too much isn’t always a good thing. It’s important to space your emails out (especially if they’re for information purposes only), so you don’t flood your customers’ inboxes.
