Autumn is seriously my favorite season. The weather is perfect, not too warm or too cool. I can bust out my boots and scarves. I love making hearty soups and Dutch oven meals for dinner. However, in addition to all of those things, autumn is the perfect time to take a look at your marketing strategy. I’m here with a few tips on how to (pumpkin) spice up fall marketing.

Fall Into Getting Involved

There are so many events going on during the fall. Ranging from school sporting events to fall festivals, autumn is the perfect opportunity to get your business noticed. Think of volunteering your place of business for an event such as an animal adoption or a “trunk or treat” Halloween event. Support your local high school students by volunteering at games or sponsoring events. Consider donating your business’s goods or services to a local raffle benefiting a great cause. There are so many options from which to choose.

Take Time To Give Thanks

No, I’m not just talking about Thanksgiving. It’s important to be grateful for and to your customers all year round. One of the biggest marketing faux pas is showing how thankful you are for your client based seldomly and infrequently. Whether it’s a simple thank you card or an elaborate holiday spread, your gratitude goes a long way with clients. 

Really Get Into The Season

While this is just a personal opinion, I think that fall sometimes gets the short end of the stick when it comes to celebrations. While there are fewer “day off” holidays from September until Thanksgiving, there’s no reason not to get into the spirit of autumn. There are many ways to promote your company during the fall. You could offer “spooky specials” for Halloween, promote seasonal opportunities, or even just get into the decorating spirit. When you make an effort with the little things, your customers really take notice.

Clean Up Your Marketing Strategy

Just like needing to rake up the leaves and clean out the gutters, it’s important to periodically clean up your marketing strategy. Summer months are usually the busiest for many businesses. Fall is often seen as a much needed “break” before the craziness of the holiday season sets in. Use that time wisely!
