So I don’t think rank relevance is an actual term, but it should be. Here’s why: say you’re a fly fishing company. You can work really hard to rank for a search term that contains the words Justin Bieber, but why would you do that?

You don’t want to target people who are searching for Justin. You want to target people who are searching for fly fishing. So despite the popularity of a certain term, that does not necessarily mean you should try to rank for that term.
Your efforts are better spent ranking for words that your audience is searching for; because those are the searches that will bring you business. But how do you know what your audience is searching for?
