Q: What does SDB do?
A: “The technical answer to what SDB does is that we are a full service advertising agency. But, the real answer is that we are a company that makes life very easy for our clients. We give them their time back, we’re an advocate for them. We help them set goals that are achievable, reasonable, but also aggressive to help them grow their business. We make them money. We help our clients look good. We help the community that they’re in have a very positive impression of our clients. We get their products and services in front of the right people, and we give our clients peace of mind that everything is done right and that they’re going to be taken care of.”
Q: How did SDB get started?
A: “SDB started as another company called Omnistar Advertising & Consulting on December 13, 2005. We had a little executive suite downtown, the room was probably 10 foot by 10 foot, one desk, one chair, zero clients. But, we started with the philosophy and the purpose of doing whatever it took to help businesses grow and make their marketing better, to make it very easy on them. Being that it was December, it was the absolute worst time to call on any clients. We got our website up and going, all of our company branding going and in January is when we actually started promoting our services to other businesses. The way we promoted it was knocking on doors. One of the first doors I knocked on was Coconut Beach Tanning. For some reason, the guy liked me, and within a couple of weeks we had our first client. We kept going from there. We grew from being a small, unknown, company to what I consider the leader of marketing companies in West Texas. What makes us that today is we still have the same philosophy and still want our clients lives to be better and easier. We have people here, not just me, but people on the team that think the same thing and take ownership in the clients that we have. We’re invested in their companies and have passion for our clients. Their success is why we’re here. That’s how we measure our success. That’s how we stared, that’s how we still are…just a little bit bigger now.”
Q: What is your favorite part of your role at SDB?
A: “The most satisfying part of this whole experience is when a client comes to us and makes a point to let us know how much their business has grown. I’ve had clients tell me 20%, some have told me 50%. These are companies that have been around for awhile. I feel like they’re sharing this with us to give us some credit for that. To see their appreciation for what we do and to know it is working and to know they are more than satisfied with the results they’re getting and more importantly, that their business is growing and thriving…that’s what makes it all worth it.
Q: What are your goals for SDB?
A: “I have very big goals for SDB. I would like to have satellite offices in Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio within the next 2 years. I would like to have 200 people overall within the next 5 years and I would like to be recognized as a national and global leader in advertising and marketing.”
