I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard the answer “oh yeah, my wife does it!” or “my assistant handles that.” when asked “who does your marketing?”

Marketing is a professional job, just like being an accountant is a professional job.

(Let’s not get carried away here, I’m not comparing education levels or personality types. I’m simply stating that both marketers and accountants are professional jobs.)

So, that being said, if I asked you “who does your accounting?” and you said “oh, my assistant handles that.” I would probably respond with “Is your assistant an accountant?” Most likely you would say no and (I think) you would look awfully silly having your assistant do your accounting.

We're Not "Just Anyone."

We're the ones you want for marketing.

Why? Because she’s an assistant! She may be great at “assisting,” but accounting isn’t her job. She doesn’t know what she’s doing.


She doesn’t know what she’s doing.

That, my readers, is the key. WHY would you put your marketing into the hands of someone who isn’t knowledgable on how to do it? Now, if your wife or assistant is a marketer, that makes sense and I’ll back off.

Whether you realize it or not, marketing is very important. It’s your business’ image. It’s your customers/clients. It’s your revenue.

So don’t let just anyone run your marketing. Just like you wouldn’t let just anyone do your accounting.
