If you’ve missed any of our scary marketing facts this week, catch up here!

You’ll be crazy surprised (spooked, if you will) how the Internet has influenced how we communicate with each other, and in turn, how businesses communicate with their customers (A.K.A. how we “market” to them).

Marketing Fact #3

“79% of marketing leads never convert into sales. Lack of lead nurturing is the common cause of this poor performance.”

Alright people, let’s back up to a very important point. As an Internet marketer, my job is to send you hot leads. Straight to your inbox. From there, you (or your sales team) are responsible for closing those leads and generating the sales revenue. It’s the circle of sales, so to speak.

Hot Leads!

Straight to your inbox.

One of the most disappointing things to me, as an Internet marketer, is going to the effort of attracting people to convert on a client’s website, only to never be contacted by a salesperson.

Huge bummer.

So, that being said, before contacting an Internet marketer to begin any type of program, keep in mind that your new marketing efforts will generate leads for your sales team to close. If you don’t have the troops to close the deal, then maybe you need to back up and assess your situation.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but it’s a point often forgotten when beginning a new marketing plan…have the sales team (or at least the effort) to follow up with the leads we send you. They’re interested people who are very likely to turn into customers.
