Well, it’s now next week and here I am beginning a new series, SDB Facebook Secrets Revealed.
Before I tell you exactly how to use Facebook to grow your business, I have to tell you a bit about how Facebook works. As a business on Facebook, the organic reach you get has significantly decreased.
(Organic reach is the total number of unique people who were shown your post through unpaid distribution.)
Well, Facebook wants your money. When you pay to sponsor your Facebook content, the reach you get is far greater than organic reach. Is there a way to increase your reach without paying an arm and a leg?
Yes. And that’s exactly what this series is about.

The way Facebook prioritizes the posts that are shown are dependent on several factors:
- How recently the post was published
- How may likes, shares, comments the post received
- How often the viewer interacted with the page recently
- Past viewer engagement with the same type of post
The goal of the Facebook newsfeed is to deliver the right content to the right people at the right time so they don’t miss the stories that are important to them. Ideally, Facebook wants to show all the posts people want to see in the order they want to see them.
So what does that mean to you,as you try to use Facebook to grow your business?
It means that you have to publish content that educates, entertains, enlightens, or in some way adds value to them.
