Yesterday, I told you how the Twitter flub Amtrak made affects you. Today, I’m telling you what you can learn from Apple’s advertising.
Basically, I’m relating other people marketing efforts to your own. Because sometimes it just takes seeing it through someone else’s eyes!
You may know that Apple’s latest and greatest iPhone is being released this Friday. For us Apple lovers out there, this is a big deal. Such a big deal that when I noticed an ad on YouTube, I clicked through to find out more about this coveted device.
These are a couple of clips of what I saw.
So what? What can you learn from Apple’s advertising?
Here’s the thing: I think so many people get caught up on what advertising isn’t. Advertising isn’t necessarily about seeing your billboard all over town or the buzz you get from a new commercial. Effective advertising delivers results. And let’s face it, if you don’t get results, then what’s the point?
But did you know that your advertising efforts can be used to inform?
That’s the exact reason I clicked on that Apple ad I saw flash across my screen. Not because I was looking to buy one at that moment (but let’s face it, I will eventually), but because I wanted to know more about it.
It’s important that you are there for your customers to find you. By “there” I mean online. That’s where people go to find information these days. Plain and simple.
So rather than solely using your advertising to expose, consider approaching your marketing strategy with the intent to not only inform, but to also be present.
