Hello. My name is Amanda and I would like to talk to you about [fill in the blank].

Just kidding. That’s not how I’m going to start.

Whenever you hear the word audience, what comes to your mind? Theaters, concerts, sporting events, public speaking, marketing? Technically speaking, an audience is considered the people a message is intended to reach or an opportunity to be heard. SDB loves both of those definitions, as it gives us another basic building block of marketing.

I’m a sponge for knowledge. I like learning new concepts, techniques, and skills. I read blogs, watch YouTube videos, listen to lectures, and peruse social media to increase my brain power. However, I’m WAY more interested in learning how to make an amazing new recipe than I am in, say, learning how to change my car’s brake pads. While the brake pads are probably much more practical, I have zero interest in having that particular skill in my arsenal. However, give me an afternoon on Pinterest and I can recreate a four-course meal by dinnertime. That is because I’m sitting in the cooking audience as opposed to the one for car repair.

Who Is YOUR Audience?

We know!

As a business, knowing your audience is one of the most critical steps is achieving your goals. There are particular age ranges, locations, and interests that might be especially helpful for reaching a group of customers who would most likely benefit your business. An upscale clothing boutique probably wouldn’t experience much customer traffic from teenagers. A restaurant in Midland can’t expect to have many regular diners from New York. It’s simply a matter of knowing who needs your company’s service the most.

And in conclusion, I would like to add…

Just kidding. I’m not going to end like that, either. Marketing can provide structure and focus your business plan and long-term goals. At SDB, we’re experienced in helping your company narrow its target audience to help you secure and maintain great customers. We want to connect you to the people who will be the critical components of building and maintaining your business. Let us help you today!
