So, for those who wouldn’t dare to guess, I am 26 years old.

I know right?

How dare a woman tell her age! But, that means I have had the chance to experience 25 Christmases so far in this crazy thing we call life. It is very hard for me to narrow it down to just one that has to be my favorite, but considering that I now have a 4 year old little boy, he’s definitely made my Christmas experience different each year.

With that being said, Christmas of 2014 was by far my favorite Christmas. My little one had just turned 3 a few weeks before, and I feel as though he was going to finally understand that mommy got him some toys, clothes, and a few other exciting things that would put a smile on his face.

Now, I definitely know that Jesus is the reason for the season, and try to teach my son that as much as I can, but being a single mother, you find yourself trying to be that mom that has it all together with the dream job, the overflow of Christmas presents under the tree, the dog, and the house…

Let me be the first to tell you, that is all a lie. HA!

That Christmas, I believe I only bought my little man maybe 10 gifts and a few outfits. I was very fortunate to be able to do that, and was so thankful for the job that allowed me to be able to do that as well. But, that’s not my favorite part… being able to see my child’s face light up with so much joy and happiness from one small toy, meant the world to me.

I’m not one to open up much to people I don’t know about my little man, but this is what I received from that moment I saw a smile on his face from something so small…

I was the one that felt like I received the biggest gift of all.

My little boy changed my life the day he was born, and continues to share his love and kindness throughout all his years so far, and instead of me being the one to give him his favorite Christmas, he ended up giving me mine.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
